I wouldn't mind an extension if you choose to give one

I'm almost done, but I'm worried that something will come up this evening and prevent me from my mad art-rush I have planned to finish things up.

An extension will be good, so I can take my time with the color and the little details ^^ (of course, if it doesn't bother anyone ).

I'd say an extension would be nice, I would love to see more entires and see what everyone had in mind.

-Actually, it is just a broad sci-fi rave party! With glowing red dance floor, square thingies, and glowsticks

Unfortunately, I don't know how to place in good lighting effects. Not too great in drawing background dancers also... so I kind of just skipped the crazy rave lights and other dancers I wanted to place in.

As I only found this thread on Tuesday, an extension would be great for me.

A good tip I have for making things seem like they glow is to make sure that you use a brighter color on the inside of the object than you do outside. Also, if you have photoshop or a similar program, you can put your glow effects on a new layer, make a blurred duplicate of that layer, and change its blend settings to 'multiply'- this will greatly enhance any 'glowing' effects you have.

Also, would anyone mind taking a look at the folds I've drawn in the girls shirt? Something seems off about them but I'm too brain dead at the moment to figure out what- I've just left them as is so I can move on to finishing her skin, but if someone has any suggestions that would be great ^^

removed image, no longer relevant

Has anyone else spent a good half hour drawing something and only to realize that it won't even show up once you've reduced the resolution to show it to people? I totally did that today with the little gold rings on her dress- I might as well have just drawn plain yellow circles and it would look pretty much the same as it does now. >_<

hmm...bring the shadows under the folds in a little tighter and smooth out the highlights instead of having a hard white line...basically do with the white what you did with the blue and the other way around. Should look a bit more like fabric folds than gills when ya get done. Hope that helps.

EDIT: Example might help, I don't know if I explain things the way I mean:

To me it looks to me like they're too hard edged, they also have no effect on the cloth around them at the moment so they appear to be more a design rather than a fold. You look at them and wonder where the material for the fold is coming from.

They also simply appear and disappear, folds in clothing would run the width of her side as that is the point where they are being folded from. Because the length of the fold is truncated it feels as though there is no reason for it to be there as that part should lay flat.

I hope that made sense and is what you're looking for.

Other than that though, that is looking really good.

Thanks Widow and Starr, that was some good advice.

I redid the folds completely, in the end, because changing around the ones I had wasn't working out- they didn't make any sense in their placement in the first place. I'll flesh them out more later when I add finishing touches to stuff, but now, at least, they aren't bugging me while I work on the rest of the drawing

I do still need to extend a couple of them around the edge but since I'm working on a single layer at the moment I'll save that step for when I'm sure the folds are where I want them to be.

Heh, yeah. Although in this case I think I'll hold off on the close-ups... I don't think anyone is going be interested in seeing a bunch of little button-things

Wow, you guys have so much patience to be able to do things like that xD. Maybe I should get me some of that xD.

Edit : A few days more will be good xD, I have gotten too far into this drawing to throw it lol.

Alright, I'll extend the deadline to the end of this weekend so that people will get a few more days. Hopefully that'll be enough.

The new deadline is 13th April!

Gah... well, I could extend it with 1 or 2 weeks if people want that. I just heard from a few people that extending it to the weekend would be best. But I'm open for suggestions, just nag me and I'll probably change the deadline again

2 days should be good ^^, it's not like I have many things to do on the drawing xD (all that's left is the coloring of the guy, the background and if I have the time, I'll try to make it look better xD).

Edit : my "work" xD (it's not done) http://img501.imageshack.us/img501/1464/showae2.jpg.
I still need to adjust / change many things (I'm new to PS, so I've been going from tutorials to tutorials, and then ,when I realized I only had a few days left, I decided to do things my way xD).

xD; I'll be getting my new scanner this coming Wednesday (the 16th) so that won't work out, but I won't fret. I see there's many other artists I'd love to see take a go at this over me. x);; I'll frequent the next few days to see how things turn out though~

Kedlai and Lestat at the beach ^^. (I may change the background or small things like that).
